I picked up the Storm of Zehir expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2 last night. I liked NWN2 and the first expansion... I'm still undecided about this one. It's almost a completely different game from all of its predecessors.
It adheres much more closely to the spirit of tabletop D&D -- your characters can die, not just be temporarily unconscious; you can only rest in taverns and outdoors, and the latter means potential to be jumped by monsters; there's actual travel (not just zoning from Town A to Cave B), including discovery of random encounters, events, and locations. On the downside, the story so far seems mostly nonexistent, so it's been a little harder to get hooked on like the other games in the series.
